Farmers Bump Off Javelina, 5-3
|
Lancaster pitcher David García did his part in helping his team beat the Arizona Javelina, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Daniel Snyder, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. Juan Castro earned the save for Lancaster, his 14th of the year.
The Farmers got a big hit from left fielder Jorge Canó. In the bottom of the sixth, Canó smacked a 2-run home run off Arizona pitcher Emin Mardin. It was his 5th home run of the season. Suddenly, the Farmers were ahead, 4-3.
"It's always extra special to win at home," said Canó.
With the win, Lancaster upped its record to 28-26.
