The Ottawa Fat Cats beat the Virginia Beach Whales, 10-2, at Nationals Park. Phil Tillman, in particular, was impressive. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 5 runs and scored once. Walt Gregory picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-5. He struck out 3 in 5.1 innings. Getting the save was Chandler Lester, his 2nd.

In the first inning, Tillman had a 2-run home run for Ottawa. It was his 9th home run of the season and put the Fat Cats on top, 3-0.

"I thought we played a nice game," Tillman told the Ottawa Daily. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."

Ottawa, now 24-26, holds down 9th place in the Menard's AA.
