Clutch Hitting Delivers Win for Fat Cats
|
The Richland Rails got a sterling performance from pitcher James Ellison, but the Ottawa Fat Cats still prevailed, 4-2. Ellison threw 8.1 innings of 5-hit ball. Ottawa reliever Félix Trevino was credited with the win, to go to 1-1. James Ellison took the loss for Richland. Chandler Lester picked up the save for Ottawa, his 1st of the year.
Ottawa used a clutch hit from Phil Tillman to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Fat Cats ahead, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
After the game, Ottawa manager Jorge Carranza applauded the team's effort. "They busted their tails out there," he said.
The win makes Ottawa 23-25.
