A nice crowd turned out for a clash between the Nuevo Mexico Mariachis and Virginia Beach Whales.
The Nuevo Mexico Mariachis went home winners at Virginia Beach Grounds, thanks in large part to starter Albert Wallace. Wallace stifled the Virginia Beach Whales, enabling Nuevo Mexico to grab the 5-0 win. Nuevo Mexico is now 25-22, while Virginia Beach is 28-19.
Wallace scattered 4 hits over 8 innings for the Mariachis. With the win, Wallace goes to 7-1 on the year with 63 strikeouts.
