Mardin Deals Virginia Beach 5-0 Setback
|
Arizona starter Emin Mardin put a stranglehold on the Virginia Beach offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Javelina to a 5-0 win. Arizona is now 24-20.
Mardin's performance can only be described as masterful. He notched 6 strikeouts in 8 innings while allowing 2 hits. Mardin, who is tied for 8th in the 3AA with a 1.11 WHIP, goes to 4-3 on the year with 33 strikeouts.
"Emin was throwing free and easy," said Arizona manager León Domínguez.
