Miners Suffer 5-3 Setback
|
Ottawa rode a decent outing from starter Sam van Elswijk to victory over the Marquette Miners. The final score was 5-3. Jesús Sánchez finished to wrap up his 5th save. Ottawa has a record of 14-19, placing them 10th in the Menard's AA.
Tied up with the Miners in the top of the fourth inning, the Fat Cats got a boost from shortstop Joe Wilson. With the bases loaded, Wilson saw a 1-1 sinker from Marvin Glendenning and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Ottawa on top, 2-0.
"I just trusted my stuff," said van Elswijk.
