|
Barton Springs Blues starter Giustino Cotichini kept the Virginia Beach Whales hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-2 win. Cotichini picked up the win for Barton Springs, going 7 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 9 hits. He now sports a record of 4-2. The Blues raised their record to 16-16.
Barton Springs used the timely hitting of Drake McCormick to seize the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Blues on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We had a nice day," said Barton Springs skipper Albert Emery.
