Whales Earn 3-2 Win Against Sixshooters
|
The Virginia Beach Whales wiggled past the Westwood Sixshooters, 3-2, at Sixshooters Stadium. The win was highlighted by the performance of Virginia Beach pitcher Keanu Kolora. Johnny Bowling earned the win after being called from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 2-1. With the win, the Whales improved to 19-10.
Virginia Beach used the timely hitting of Michael Mitchell to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Whales on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"Exhilarating win," said Mitchell.
