Sixshooters Walk It Off for 13th Win of Season
|
The Virginia Beach Whales got a superb performance from pitcher José Lewis. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Westwood. The Sixshooters won the game, 4-3. Lewis threw 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball. Dave McCormick picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Mark McMinn was tagged with the loss. Westwood, now 13-15, holds down 9th place in the Menard's AA.
The Sixshooters procured the win, in large part because of third baseman Ed Edwards. In the bottom of the 13th, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"This joint was rocking," said Edwards.
