Mariachis Top Miners to Even Record
|
Nuevo Mexico Mariachis starter Charles Lawrence was in a rhythm all game. He led his team to a win over the Marquette Miners, 4-1. Lawrence went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 9. His record improves to 1-1. Carlos Romero earned the save for Nuevo Mexico, his 2nd of the year.
Nuevo Mexico used the timely hitting of James Rowland to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Mariachis on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"The effort we put into this one paid off," Rowland said.
To call the performance of the 2056 Miners disappointing is an understatement.
