Ku Helps Battery Run Win Streak to 5
|
The Charleston Battery downed the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 8-2. The hitting star was second baseman Ji-hoon Ku. Ku slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 and driving in 4 for the Battery. Picking up the save was Rex Austin, his 1st. The Battery sit in 8th place in the Third League with a record of 42-50.
In the top of the first, Ku pounced on a 1-2 screwball from Joe Gunn and hit a 2-run home run. It put Charleston on top, 2-0.
"There are times you get yourself out and there are times you come through," Ku said. "That's how it goes."
