Narrow Win Takes Northern Virginia Streak to 9

Another day, another victory for the red-hot Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids.
Northern Virginia starter Duke Silver had a strong outing against the Colorado Billy Goats at Grazing Hills. The right-hander was a big part of his team's 4-3 win. The first-place Rainbow Mermaids have their sights set on making a deep playoff run.
Northern Virginia used a clutch hit from Michaelsoft Binbows to get the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Rainbow Mermaids ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"We'll keep riding this wave as long as we can," said Rainbow Mermaids manager David Lister.
