In a low-scoring affair between the Kingston Ponies and the Toledo Stingers, pitcher George Taylor was the difference between victory and defeat. The Kingston right-hander earned accolades in the 3-1 Ponies win. Hui Loh, credited with the win, is now 3-0. He allowed no runs on 1 hit. Picking up the save was Dick Hill, his 11th.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the eighth inning, but Claude Simon didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Toledo trailing 2-1, Simon retired Erwan Michel to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Simon, with a wink.
