Lester Threlfall did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Toledo Stingers from losing, 9-3, to the Charleston Battery at Charleston Armory. Threlfall went 4-4 with a triple, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs. At 35-49, the Battery claim 10th place in the Third League.
Making an impact for the home team was Bryan Spilsbury. In the bottom of the third, the 27-year old catcher had a run-scoring walk. That made the score 3-1, Battery.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Spilsbury.
