The Toledo Stingers powered past the Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC, 9-7, at Great Northern Field. Ernesto Reyes was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and 2 walks, while scoring 3 times and driving in 2, to lead the charge. Jorge Gil got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. The game was all tied up in the top of the 11th, until Reyes delivered big-time for Toledo, stroking a dramatic run-scoring double off José Cruz. The game-changing hit put the Stingers on top, 8-7.
