Thomas Slugs Lakers to 8-2 Win
|
The Echo Park Lakers thumped the Toledo Stingers, 8-2, at LA Forum. Tim Thomas was a big reason his team got the win. Thomas hit 3 home runs. He drove in 6 runs and scored three times. Bhagavan Antle picked up the win, improving his season record to 7-3. He struck out 7 in 6 innings. Echo Park now sits in third place in the Third League at 41-28.
With a runner on 2nd and one out in the bottom of the fourth inning, designated hitter Ángel Miranda delivered big for the Lakers. Echo Park was trailing 2-0 when he belted a 2-run home run.
"This kind of win will certainly make our fans happy," Miranda told the Echo Park Gazette.
