The Thunder Bay Northern Lions BC topped the Buckhead Bowties, 3-2, in Menard's Third League action at Great Northern Field. The standout performance belonged to Thunder Bay pitcher and Pecan Grove, Texas, native Steve Hale. Hale, the winner, moves to 3-7. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 1 walk. José Cruz got the save, the 8th for him this season.

Baha al Din Abdul-Majid dealt the Bowties a blow in the bottom of the fourth. Batting with a runner on 3rd and Thunder Bay leading 2-1, Abdul-Majid hit a 1-2 splitter for a run-scoring single.
