Rainbow Mermaids Hold Off Dirty Reds, 2-1
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids topped the Dayton Dirty Reds, 2-1, in Menard's Third League action at Lang Park. The standout performance belonged to Northern Virginia pitcher and Syosset, New York, native Stanley Osborne. Northern Virginia reliever Stanley Osborne got the win, raising his record to 6-0. Jorge González was tagged with the loss. Bill Mitchell locked down his 2nd save.

Marcos Janero, the 13-year veteran , had a direct impact on the outcome. Janero contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Northern Virginia up, 2-1.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Janero. "And not try to do too much."

Northern Virginia has now won 5 games in a row.
