Stingers Deal Dirty Reds 4-3 Loss
|
People outside the ballpark no doubt heard the roar of the crowd as the winning run crossed the plate.
The Toledo Stingers topped the Dayton Dirty Reds by a score of 4-3. Leading the way was designated hitter Gregg Curtis. Curtis went 3 for 6 with 3 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once for the Stingers. Toledo reliever Amin Yahouse picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Peter O'Farrell shouldered the loss.
The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the tenth. With two out, Curtis hit a fastball from Peter O'Farrell for a run-scoring single. The Stingers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.
"What a great win for our team," said a jubilant David Bunting, the Toledo manager.
The losing skid has reached 6 games for Dayton.
