The Virginia Beach Whales and Lancaster Farmers played an exciting game.

The Virginia Beach Whales faced a tough opponent in Lancaster pitcher San-gui Tow, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Farmers Field by a final score of 4-3. Tow went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. Sosa Kiyomizu earned the save for Virginia Beach, his 2nd.

Virginia Beach used the clutch hitting of Esteban Reyes to capture the win. The first baseman drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Whales ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Reyes told the Virginia Beach Bulletin. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."

With the loss, Lancaster sinks to 4-4.
