Fog Come Up Short at Kansas, 7-6
|
The Kansas Rainbeaus scored a tight 7-6 win versus the Sunset District Fog at Wichita Field. Kansas pitcher Héctor Peña held his own in the contest. Peña went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 5. His record improves to 5-12. Kansas is now 44-46, Sunset District 40-50.
Kevin Vega hit a 2-run double off Kevin Rose in the bottom of the sixth, which put the Rainbeaus in front, 5-3. In addition to the double, Vega had 1 single and 1 walk, while going 2 for 4.
"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Sunset District manager Brady Bess. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."
