The Port Huron Blitzkrieg topped the Sacramento Redlegs, 8-5, with third baseman Dale Gribble playing a big role. Gribble went 3 for 4 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 2 for the Blitzkrieg in the win. Gil Childers got credit for the save for Port Huron. It was his 22nd of the year. The Blitzkrieg move to 38-50 with the win, while the Redlegs drop to 48-40.

Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Joe Powell? The Port Huron left fielder had a 2-run double in the top of the third inning to put the Blitzkrieg on top, 5-0. For the game, Powell had 1 double and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

"This isn't football or hockey where you can overwhelm your opponents," Powell told the Port Huron Gazette. "Everyone gets 27 outs and we happened to make the most of them."
