Sioux Falls got a terrific game from first baseman Martín Flores. It wasn't enough, though, to prevent the team from falling to Kansas, 5-4. Flores was 2 for 2 with a home run, 2 walks, and was hit by a pitch. Kansas reliever Harvey Caldwell picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Benoît Lambert was saddled with the loss. Kansas occupies 5th place in the Silver AAA at 41-45.

Kansas used the clutch hitting of Ken Trowsdale to snag the win. The right fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rainbeaus ahead, 5-4. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.

In postgame comments, Trowsdale said he was glad to contribute to an exciting win.
