Marlins Fall to .500 After 5-3 Loss to Monsters
|
Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Monongahela Monsters and Ft. Myers Marlins.
Monongahela pitcher David White did his part in helping his team beat the Ft. Myers Marlins, 5-3. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The winning pitcher was White, now 6-7. He tossed 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 3. Carlos Vázquez got the save, his 10th in 15 chances.
Monongahela used a well-timed hit by Mark King to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Monsters ahead, 3-0. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.
"Enjoyed this one," White told the Monongahela Observer. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
Monongahela bumps their record to 35-45 with the win.
