The Sacramento Redlegs picked up a win at Sacramento Sanitation Station, courtesy of Roberto Sánchez. The right-hander helped his team stop the Sunset District Fog, 3-2. In 7.1 innings, Sánchez surrendered 8 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. He allowed 2 runs. The Redlegs improve their record to 31-24 with the win over Sunset District.
Had Ralph MacPherson not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, MacPherson hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the Redlegs.
"We had the game right there for the taking," said Sunset District manager Brady Bess. "But we decided not to take it."
