Rainbeaus Trip Redlegs, 6-2, in Extra Innings
|
Sacramento got a terrific performance from pitcher Gunnar Quinn, but it wasn't enough to beat the Kansas Rainbeaus. Kansas won the Sacramento Sanitation Station contest, 6-2. Quinn threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Otis Luhgow, 2-1, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. Kansas has a record of 23-27, placing them 7th in the Silver AAA.
Kansas used the timely hitting of Danny Carter to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run single in the top of the tenth inning to put the Rainbeaus on top, 3-1. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.
"Good baseball players make you a smarter manager," said Kansas manager Will Thomas.
