Both teams had their chances, but the Port Huron Blitzkrieg eventually prevailed.
The Norfolk Pajaritos wasted an impressive 7-inning effort from starter Louis Bainbridge, falling 2-1 to the Port Huron Blitzkrieg at Norfolk Field. Mike Thornton got the win, improving to 7-2. He worked 6 innings, giving up 1 run on 8 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 0. James Spencer closed it out for his 1st save.
Tom Scroby was 1 for 3 for Port Huron. In the top of the fifth, with the teams deadlocked, 1-1, Scroby delivered for the Blitzkrieg. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Port Huron on top, 2-1.
"We missed opportunities once again," said losing manager Phil Baker.
Port Huron is now 18-21. Norfolk is 17-22.
