Thrilling Victory Pushes Drummers Win Streak to 5
The Tortolita Drummers topped the Ft. Myers Marlins, 6-4, with youngster Patrick Mathis playing a key role. Mathis went 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs for the Drummers in the win. Tortolita reliever Manuel Villalobos picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alfredo Contreras absorbed the loss. Richello Dosono got credit for the save for Tortolita. It was his 5th of the year.

Mathis had a game-changing double in the bottom of the eighth. On a 0-2 splitter from Alfredo Contreras, he banged a 2-run double to right, giving the Drummers a 6-4 lead. It was the 7th double of the year for Mathis.

"This team is real focused right now," said Tortolita manager Marcos Costa.

The Drummers raised their record to 13-7.
