The Port Huron Blitzkrieg topped the Norfolk Pajaritos, 6-3, in USSL Triple A action at Port Huron Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of Port Huron pitcher Gustavo Rivera. Rivera went 6.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 0, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-0. Gil Childers closed the game out for Port Huron, earning his 2nd save.
Early in the game, second baseman Mike Sherman had a 2-run double for Port Huron. It was his 1st double of the season and put the Blitzkrieg on top, 4-2.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Rivera said.
The loss lowers the Norfolk record to 3-1.
