The Hartford Pride eked out a 3-2 win versus the Syracuse Starks at Pride Park. Nobody did more than pitcher Mark Hogan. He was terrific. Dan Smith recorded the save for Hartford, his 12th of the season. Hartford currently is in 6th place in the Premier AAA at 47-53.

Okakura Samurakami was 2 for 3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs for Hartford. In the bottom of the third, with the teams deadlocked, 2-2, Samurakami delivered for the Pride. His run-scoring sacrifice fly put Hartford on top, 3-2.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Syracuse manager Gabriel Madrigal. "But we decided not to take it."
