Flyers Sneak Past Nobles, 3-2
|
The Pennsauken Flyers got a strong performance from pitcher Todd Wallace, who stymied the Bakersfield offense en route to a win, 3-2, at Jerome Grounds. Pennsauken pitcher Sixto Bustamante got the win, upping his record to 6-3. José Zamora got the loss. The save went to Anthony Carney, his 23rd this season.
The most important at-bat for Pennsauken came in the top of the ninth inning, when shortstop Andy Fievet stroked a 2-0 fastball to right-center for a run-scoring single, putting Pennsauken up, 3-2.
"Both teams played hard," said Pennsauken manager Culley Adjeng.
The Flyers now have a record of 51-45.
