Flyers Knock Off Starks, 4-3
|
The Pennsauken Flyers knocked off the Syracuse Starks, 4-3, at Pennsauken Park. Dan Kelly was a big reason Pennsauken won. The first baseman went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Marlon Harris came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 5 hits in 4 innings. His record now stands at 1-0. Jordan Murdoch picked up the save for Pennsauken, his 8th of the year.
Kelly contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Pennsauken in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 2-1, Kelly took a fastball from Bill Strain and stroked the home run to right. His 8th home run of the season allowed the Flyers to leap in front, 3-2.
"Sometimes, you can be too aggressive," said Syracuse manager Gabriel Madrigal. "You need to let the game come to you."
Pennsauken now owns a record of 48-43.
