Starks Get Past Pawnee for 3-2 Win
The Syracuse Starks scored a tight 3-2 win versus the Pawnee ParksNRec at Whips Ballpark. Syracuse pitcher Geoffrey Da Costa held his own in the contest. The win was credited to Yoichibei Maekawa in relief. His record improves to 4-1. O-jun Kun took the loss. The ParksNRec, now 36-49, have lost 5 in a row.

Syracuse used the timely hitting of Jesús De La Garza to seize the win. The third baseman stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Starks on top, 3-2. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Both teams played hard," said Syracuse manager Gabriel Madrigal.
