The Hartford Pride bested the Baton Rouge Brass by a score of 6-4, with right fielder Mario Rodríguez getting the main credit. On the day, Rodríguez went 1 for 2 with a home run and 2 walks, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Pride. The winner in relief was Seth Abrams. The right-hander allowed no runs on 2 hits in 3 innings. He now owns a record of 2-3. The Pride raised their record to 27-37.
Rodríguez had a timely hit for Hartford in the bottom of the seventh. With Baton Rouge trailing 4-2, he turned a 0-1 fastball into a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season, making it 5-4, Hartford.
"There's a lot of passion in our clubhouse," said Rodríguez. "When we put it together we're a great ball club."
