Pennsauken and Syracuse got after it at Stark Stadium.
The Pennsauken Flyers had no problem beating the Syracuse Starks, 12-2, at Stark Stadium. Ricardo Martínez led the way. He went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 3 times and drove in 4 for Pennsauken. The Flyers now have a record of 28-30.
With Pennsauken leading 9-1 in the top of the fifth, Martínez came up to bat against Syracuse pitcher Jeff Hancock. Martínez hit a changeup to right for a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season put the Flyers on top, 12-1.
Syracuse manager Gabriel Madrigal called the blowout loss "just something that happens from time to time."
