Squirrel Monkeys Trip Disaster, 4-3, in Extra Innings
The Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys scored a tight 4-3 win versus the Port Royal Disaster at Ballpark of Port Royal. Syracuse pitcher Steve Gourin held his own in the contest. Ronald Love picked up the save for Syracuse, his 34th of the year. The Squirrel Monkeys move to 65-35 with the win, while the Disaster drop to 55-45.

Syracuse used a timely hit from Ángel González to get the win. The first baseman stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the tenth inning to put the Squirrel Monkeys ahead, 4-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it made an impact.

"The game is never over 'til it's over," said a jubilant Scott Garrison, the Syracuse skipper.
