Starks Lose By a Run at Calgary, 8-7
Getting a good performance from center fielder Rodrigo Rodríguez, the Calgary Lynx defeated the Syracuse Starks, 8-7. Rodríguez was 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 3 for the Lynx. Calgary reliever Waweru Kamili was the winner. His record is now 1-0. The losing pitcher was Steve Ward. With the win, the Lynx improved to 33-20.

Rodríguez had a game-changing triple in the bottom of the seventh. On a 2-0 fastball from Yoichibei Maekawa, he banged a bases-clearing triple to right-center, giving the Lynx a 7-6 lead. It was the 4th triple of the year for Rodríguez.

"We maximized our offense today," said Calgary skipper Steve Duncan. "That makes everyone's life easier."
