Men Drop Hot Chickens, 2-0
|
In a low-scoring affair between the Florida Men and the Nashville Hot Chickens, pitcher Pedro Negrón was the difference between victory and defeat. The Florida right-hander earned accolades in the 2-0 Men win. Negrón went 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 1, and struck out 6. His record improves to 5-5. Tom Hancock notched his 18th save in 20 chances.
Felipe Madrid, the former first overall pick , had a direct impact on the outcome. Madrid contributed a run-scoring double in the top of the eighth inning to put Florida up, 2-0.
"We played hard and won," said Negrón. "Sometimes, baseball really is that easy.'
The win makes Florida 42-55.
