Starks Need Extra Frames to Get Past Flyers
|
The Syracuse Starks downed the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-5, at Stark Stadium. The Starks were led by Jeffrey Sparks. He was 3 for 5 with a double and 2 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. At 21-22, the Starks claim 4th place in the Premier AAA.
The Starks procured the win, in large part because of center fielder Matt Dunham. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Sparks said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
