Lake Monsters Beat Thunderbirds, 4-2
|
The Vermont Lake Monsters beat the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 4-2. Vermont pitcher and Perth, Australia, native Daniel Ricciardo led the way. Vermont now owns a record of 33-55.
Vermont used a clutch hit from Dave Johns to get the win. The first baseman drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Lake Monsters ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a doozy.
"Wish we'd had more wins to celebrate like this one," said Ricciardo.
