Dodos Cut Down Hot Chickens, 7-6
|
The Hialeah Dodos beat the Nashville Hot Chickens, 7-6, at Dodos Ballpark. Hialeah center fielder Jim Willis had an outstanding performance. He was 4-4 with a triple, a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2. Ricardo Corona earned the save, his 22nd, for the Dodos. Hialeah is now 40-44, Nashville 40-44.
Hialeah took the lead on Willis's 3rd triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which came against Eduardo Martínez in the bottom of the seventh, made the score 7-6, Hialeah.
"Some of the guys in here work hard, some of the guys just kind of fall out of bed and get it done. Whatever works I guess, we won this one," Willis told the Hialeah Citizen.
