The Hamilton Thunderbirds topped the Syracuse Squirrel Monkeys, 3-0, in M3L Triple A action at Coyote Wildlife Refuge. The standout performance belonged to Hamilton pitcher and Palmview South, Texas, native Dan McIntyre. The win puts Hamilton at 46-33 this season.
Syracuse could barely put a dent in McIntyre. The right-hander tossed 111 pitches over 8 innings for the Thunderbirds, allowing only 2 hits.
"It's not about individual awards," McIntyre told a Hamilton Times reporter after the game. "It's about winning championships. That's what we play for."
