6-1 Loss Extends Florida Losing Streak
|
The Santa Barbara Golden Cranes beat the Florida Men, 6-1. Santa Barbara pitcher and Pittsburg, Texas, native Al Leonard led the way. This loss makes it 6 in a row for Florida.
The Golden Cranes got an important contribution from first baseman Bill Davis, who in the bottom of the fourth punched a 1-0 changeup into center for a run-scoring double. It was his 9th double of the season and put the Golden Cranes ahead, 1-0.
"I'm not out there for personal accomplishments," Leonard told a Santa Barbara Daily News reporter after the game. "I'm out there to help the team win, and that's what we did today."
