The Hamilton Thunderbirds did just enough to sneak past the Port Royal Disaster, 2-1, at Ballpark of Port Royal. Hamilton pitcher Raúl Martínez, in particular, had a standout performance. Earning his 1st save of the year was Dan McIntyre. The third-place Thunderbirds are 31-23.

José Rodríguez, the 30-year old left fielder , had a direct impact on the outcome. Rodríguez contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the first inning to put Hamilton up, 2-0.

"This was a tough loss," said Port Royal manager Mike Nyberg. "It'll stick in my craw for a while."
