The Florida Men topped the Hamilton Thunderbirds, 8-4, in M3L Triple A action at Psychos Ballpark. The standout performance belonged to Florida pitcher and Lawndale, California, native Homer Mathis. Mathis, now 6-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 7, walking 3, and allowing 3 runs. Florida is 7th in the Menard's AAA with a record of 24-27.

Florida took a 5-1 lead on José Colón's 3rd triple of the season. The bases-clearing triple, which Colón hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Hamilton pitcher Steve MacDougal visibly frustrated.

"We did more than enough to get the win," said Mathis.
