Skidding Disaster Lose 6th Straight
|
Ballpark of Port Royal was the site of a tense game between the Port Royal Disaster and Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds.
The Port Royal Disaster got a superb performance from pitcher Javier Camacho, but the Ellenburg Fighting Dachshunds still won the game, 3-1. Camacho threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. Reliever Will Sovaiala picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Robert Brewer took the loss. Mike Allen finished the game for Ellenburg and earned his 4th save.
Ellenburg used the clutch hitting of Ron Tagwerker to capture the win. The right fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the ninth inning to give the Fighting Dachshunds the lead, 3-1. For the game, Tagwerker had 1 single and 1 double in 4 at-bats.
"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Tagwerker.
The 4th-place Disaster have lost 6 straight games.
