Lake Monsters Suffer 4-3 Setback
|
Christian Kessler helped his team muscle past the Vermont Lake Monsters, 4-3. In the game, the Florida first baseman went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Tom Hancock recorded the save, his 5th. The 6th-place Men now have a win-loss record of 19-19.
Some sloppy defense hurt the Lake Monsters. In the top of the eighth, with Florida trailing 3-2, Jim Rogers was at the plate when Florida scored 2 on an error. The miscue enabled the Men to go in front, 4-3.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Florida skipper Burton Storey. "I can't complain."
