Syracuse beat Florida at Psychos Ballpark, escaping with a 6-5 win. The win in large part was due to designated hitter Shoraku Ito. He went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. He scored 4 runs and drove in 2. The Squirrel Monkeys, at 24-12, sit in first place in the Menard's AAA.

Mike Baxter hit a 2-run triple off Homer Mathis in the top of the fourth, which put the Squirrel Monkeys in front, 4-3. Baxter had 1 walk, in addition to the triple. For the game, he went 1 for 2.

"We had the game right there for the taking," said Florida manager Burton Storey. "But we decided not to take it."
