Thunderbirds Take Nail-Biter Over Hot Chickens
The Nashville Hot Chickens got a superb performance from pitcher Steve Crabtree. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Hamilton. The Thunderbirds won the game, 4-2. Crabtree threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball. The winner was Hamilton reliever Gary Dillon, now 1-0. The loser was Juan Estéves. The 'W' lifts Hamilton's record to 20-7.

Hamilton won the game in the bottom of the 11th inning. With one out and Juan Estéves on the mound for Nashville, third baseman John Tolbert hit a dramatic 2-run home run, bringing Thunderbirds fans to their feet.

"I'm glad I could get it done when the game was in the balance," Tolbert said in his postgame press conference.
