Brass Hang 6-2 Loss on Flyers
|
The Baton Rouge Brass defeated the Pennsauken Flyers, 6-2, at Pennsauken Park. Tom Windus was one of the standouts for Baton Rouge. His 4 hits included 3 singles and 1 triple, in addition to the 1 run he scored and 3 he knocked in. Kai Ryssdal got the win, improving to 1-0. He pitched 5.1 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 3 and walking 4. Dave Franks got the save, the 1st for him this season.
A key moment came in the top of the fifth inning when Brass designated hitter Mauro Quijano socked a 1-1 sinker to left-center for a run-scoring single, putting Baton Rouge up, 3-2.
"This is a great group to be a part of, and it's a big win for us," Windus told the Baton Rouge Times.
The Brass raised their record to 4-2.
